SummerSings

We recall with great pleasure the extraordinary and enormously successful 2004 Season of SummerSings. This opened with Dr. Peter Bagley of UCONN leading an evening of Spirituals. This  was a benefit for the Joan Matz Scholarship Fund. We rounded out the season with Dr. Neely Bruce of WESLEYAN, leading us through the SACRED HARP HYMNAL and shape-note singing. During the intervening weeks we sang some of the great choral pieces by Bach, Brahms, Handel, Haydn, Mendelssohn and Mozart.

We had exceptional attendances throughout the summer, not only in numbers, but in the excellence and diversity of the many singers who joined us for the unique pleasure of choral singing. We also enjoyed the special opportunity to work with and learn from, some very exciting and challenging choral conductors.

We look forward to an exciting 2005 season. Details may be found on the SummerSings webpage. SummerSings are open to all.
